ugh...

This is rude! Here it is Tuesday, and I am still so green and my body has alien parts. ugh. Monday I had to go and take a nap at lunch. I slept in this morning, but could go lay down again. I just wish that when I did lay down I wasn't so uncomfortable. Did I already say "ugh?"

Lots of good stuff coming up-looks to be a grand summer! Lots of company and places to go!

I was re-reading some of Leroy Sievers' blog entries-

You have to find a way to come to peace with it, or it really will ruin your life. Or, certainly, run your life. We'd feel those same things if we knew we had one year, or 20 years, to live. There's never enough time.
Maybe the best response, actually one of the best lines I've heard in a long time, was the last line in Karen's note. "There is no vacation from cancer," she wrote. "However if it's going to come along with us, the least we can do is show it a good time." That made me laugh. But I'll be damned if cancer's going to get a window seat, and it had better not start asking "Are we there yet?" The answer to that is "no."

I hope that your summer is filling up with good times...come by or call if you can!

A special thank you to Marci today-it is her birthday. She has done so much to lift my spirits-hysterical cards, fun and funny little presents I can open on the icky days... You rock!

shopping, walking, healing

Happy Summer! It is coming in with a vengeance here! 90's for the next week. I am not sure how Bobbi and I are going to shop for fleece today with temperatures like that! Maybe we will start in the flip flop section before moving on to fleece.

I have chemo tomorrow. The next PET scan is coming soon-gulp. Keep your fingers crossed and your prayers and positive intentions coming! Thank you so much. I could not do it without you.

Cathy was telling me about a program in Bozeman called Mending in the Mountains. Isn't that a great name? I am hoping that I can attend in October with our friend Karin. The website says."Rediscover your own joy and hope in life, offer you more tools to empower you to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges of cancer recovery, and to provide you with nurturing support from others dealing with similar life challenges. " Sounds wonderful. I was also looking at other items on the website, Wellness Community Montana. They have a lot of support options for cancer patients. I loved that they have a "Walk and Talk," and it included this quote: "Salvitur Ambulando!" "It is solved by walking!"-St. Augustine How true is that? You get out there walking and yakking with a pal and pretty soon you feel better, you have a plan...

Speaking of...I better scoot. I walk with Amy at lunch time on Wednesdays.
Happy Summer!

p.s. Happy Birthday, dad!

off to a great start!

Wow-my summer is off to a fabulous start! I took a road trip to Utah and Idaho. Visited friends and my cousin Bengta in Salt Lake. Spent some time on the farm in Idaho with Andrea and Nick. Dan and his wife Lori came by the farm for a visit. So great to see them--what a treat! Andrea drove back to Wyoming with me and we had a few days together in Cheyenne. We got each others flower pots planted, drank G&T's, solved the world's problems, and had a grand old time! Last week I was in Boulder for work. It was a good conference and I had a fun time-always a plus. Ate at an amazing place called the Boulder Dushanbe Tea House. Fabulous!
Got home Friday afternoon just in time to go out to the Relay for Life. Walked the survivor lap with my pals/team at my side. They are part of the reason I am doing so well. (Thank you!!) Sunday I drove to Sheridan to meet up with my friend Kay from Bozeman-haven't seen her in about 15 years. Needless to say, we had a lot of catching up to do! We talked non-stopped, laughed, explored the area, went to a polo match (very cool!), and got ourselves motivated.

What's next?!!

Our Relay for Life team did great--we raised almost $11,000! Such a great event-raise awareness, educate, give hope...

I hope you all have grand summer plans.

Feels like summer, feels like hope

As our team gets ready to take the field again, I am reminded of all the folks that have helped in the fight-the fight against cancer and the fight for me... It takes so much hope and love, so much money and education.

Thank you for all you have done. I know that you don't always hear back from me...but, I am here and I am fighting and it is because you are there and fighting with me.

Alimta # 28

Wow-All Hail Alimta! Yesterday was number 28 for the Alimta (and my 34th chemo treatment). Just typing that makes me want to take a nap!

Don't forget that our Relay for Life event is next weekend. If you would like to donate to our team and to American Cancer Society, we turn in the money on Tuesday. There is a way to donate online, just go to
http://www.acsevents.org/relay/wy/cheyenne/queenchris . Thanks for all you do to help us in this fight. It is a nasty enemy and dollars for research and education and support of cancer patients and their families is what we have to do.

chris
