the BIG 50!!

Thank you all for making my life such a joy. It is indeed a celebration today!

Desiree has rounded up photos from friends and family and created a slide show in honor of my 50th. It is quite fun to wander through. Ah, school pictures!!

We must go rejoicing in the blessings of this world,
chief of which is the mystery, the magic,
the majesty and the miracle that is life.
Hugs,
chris

Spring

I want to share two poems that my dear friend Jamie Kearley sent me today in a beautiful email message. (Thank you Jamie)
They are by Ted Kooser.

Gusty and warm

I saw the season’s first bluebird
this morning, one month ahead
of its scheduled arrival. Lucky I am
to go off to my cancer appointment
having been given a bluebird, and
for a lifetime, having been given
this world.

The vernal equinox

How important it must be
to someone
that I am alive, and walking,
and that I have written
these poems.
This morning the sun stood
right at the end of the road
and waited for me.
