All rested and tan...

and it is time for chemo again. Sheesh.

Nantucket was wonderful. Toes in the sand, great meals of fresh fish, fun family to hang out with (Eleanor and Henry even put on a play-thank you!), sunsets on the beach. Ahhhhhhhhh!

My chemo schedule:
August 28
September 18 (and, I think, a PET scan)
October 9
October 30
All Thursdays and all in the afternoon. I like having treatment in the afternoon. I can get part of a day in at work.

I am starting to lose count, but I think that tomorrow is number 50 on the Alimta. (I am now in contact with another "poster child" for Alimta. She has had 69 treatments on Alimta! Gives a girl hope.)

Hope everyone has had a great summer.

chris

hello from the beach!

Toes in the sand on Nantucket.  Fish, sun, sand, fun...

Having a blast with Dave, Shirley, Eleanor and Henry playing in the sand, sunsets on the beach...doesn't get much better than that!

So sad to read that Leroy Sievers died.  His blog was the first the really made me feel that there were others in the trenches that understood.

more later....home soon.

good grief!

Seriously...how hard can this be? They have prescription drugs to help with symptoms. Just take it!! I finally picked up a prescription for the nausea...got it home, read the possible side-efffects and....didn't take it. Good grief.
Wandered over to talk to the pharmacist. She was great-didn't thunk me on the head or anything. Said that I could be drowsy and dizzy (already am...how is that helping?!) and could make me over heat. Great. I suffer from that now-sitting in a meeting with my makeup running into my shoes.

Was hoping to have something that would make it easier to head off to Boulder for a workshop...it is still sitting on the counter. sigh.

Anyway, chemo went well. Was that number 55? I think that next time will be #50 for the Alimta! All Hail Alimta!

I have been bugging Dr. Kanard to see if we could find someone else who was on Alimta, for a long time...someone with a similar experience. She told me that there was a woman that she was waiting to hear back from....well, she called while I was there! We chatted a few minutes at Lisa's desk (they were joking that I had been coming there so long I was even taking calls there!) and then we visited a bit on Saturday. Cool! There are a few folks in the thread I started for lung cancer on the Crazy Sexy Life forum (http://my.crazysexylife.com/), but nobody who has the long history with Alimta. Will be great to have her to talk to.

My beautiful daughter came through yesterday. She and her boyfriend had been in the Snowies fishing with her dad. My pal Kay from Montana was here and spent the night. Fun to catch up with folks on the patio.
I hope the typing is ok on this...I am so dizzy right now

hugs,
chris
