Crazy

I am reading Crazy Sexy Cancer Tips-great book (by Kris Carr). Good ideas and I like what she has to say. I am also watching her Learning Channel special now (thanks Peg!) and liking it. It was good timing. I chatted a lot with Dave and Shirley while on Nantucket and with Jep about what I feel I need to do next. I realized I needed to work more on the healing part, not just the dealing part....

Had an appointment for acupuncture yesterday. Going to see if it will help with the post chemo nausea.

Kris Carr talks about being the CEO of her cancer recovery conglomerate and that the first job is to "handpick a save-my-ass staff of family, friends, doctors, and/or other kinds of healers. Only the cream of the crop will do."
Wow-how true is that...and how totally necessary.

Cathy and I went to Steamboat over the Labor Day weekend. She taught me to play tennis-what a blast! Ok, she is working on teaching me to play! How weird is that scoring! To complicate matters, we also played cribbage... Now I stand at the service line and say "15-2!"

Last week Sheila and I made killer salsa with fresh tomatoes and peppers from her garden and cilantro and onions from our CSA. Love having all the late summer/fall produce-it is the best season!
I hope you can get out to the farmer's markets and that you have a grand weekend.

hugs,
chris

Hey Chris, Love the idea of being CEO of your recovery--gathering your best save-my-ass staff. I think we could all use the same approach with any personal challenge. Of course my mind always wanders to applications in senior wellness. Aging well can be greatly enhanced by surrounding yourself with a kick-ass team of people who motivate, encourage and empower you! I'm heading to my blog right now to talk about it at www.brilliantaging.typepad.com Thanks for the inspiration.
