Blubber show

I was watching what Liz calls "my blubber show" last night. It is really Extreme Makeover Home Edition. (I am always getting all teary over it!) This week it was about a woman who adopted a child that has AIDS. She then adopted siblings, and one of them has AIDS. She and her 4 boys fight AIDS every day (the physical, the harsh reactions from those who do not understand).
Remember when everyone was wearing red ribbons? Seems those are gone from lapels now.

We wear ribbons and bracelets. We walk or run. We are passionate about a cause. Then we move on to something else. But, the fight goes on for all those suffering from AIDS, MS, cancer, diabetes, heart disease....
There still needs to be money, education, caring...the offer of hope.

My wish is that as the season changes, we can all get passionate about something and offer our hope to others.

hugs,
chris

    Hey Queen Chris!

This fall weather is just wonderful!! I know what you mean about the causes that are in vogue and then are gone. We forget the daily struggles the paeople around the world have and it is easy for us to shelter ourselves from them. As Denver has pink ribbons everywhere I always bring up your point that lung cancer is not sexy like breast cancer. We need to remember that reasearch should not be limited to diseases in vogue but diseases that are in need of a cure.

I am hoping you get some king of poster child status for Alitma. :-) Lets do dinner soon!
